Yeah, I'll let you think about that.

Why do people like science fiction? Why fantasy?

Because we are believers that there is something more to existence than the grays that drag us through reality. We believe in uplifting voices and the fruit of the imagination. We cry at inhumanity while upholding all that is best in who we are and who we can be.

It doesn't matter if you're a lover of faeries or a cadet aboard an outbound star rigger. It doesn't matter if you're looking for a cup of unicorn tears, or trying to initate First Contact.

Science fiction and fantasy is about hope. It's about dreams. It's about humanity writ large.

So to those who don't understand or who don't care for such fancy, go back to your styrofoam and cardboard world, enjoy your views of cold concrete and your unwelcoming sighs that bring in each new year. But for the rest of us, give us our cloak and we'll set off adventuring, in undiscovered caves here, or caves found among the stars.

"Mr Checkov...set a course. Things that could stop them are: money (duh), fear (from seeing those that had too much done), and a dash of common sense telling them that it won't really change them. But I do think many more would if they could, and I'd like to think it would be because they theirself would feel better for it, not for reasons of how others see them.

Iknow I would have some done if i could afford it. droopy eyelids that I actually see without looking in a mirror..and maybe (not sure) a slight face lift.. i'd say anything that sags but at my age that would mean a complete body lift! heh...

but i'm afraid of surgery so even if I had the money I would think long and hard before I decided one way or the other.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-15255680090418774432007-01-05T11:39:00.000-08:002007-01-05T11:39:00.000-08:00Thanks Squirrel!
