I'm...I just saw this review for the first time. I'm rolling on the floor laughing at being called a liberal because of all the heated Facebook discussions I've had with friends who call me a conservative (and conservative friends who call me liberal). I'm actually neither liberal nor conservative, but a passionate moderate. I skew left on social issues like diversity and justice, but skew right on economics and military. I believe in a woman's right to choose but also in the death penalty for repeat offenders when it comes to murder. So I don't feel I fit into any pre-existing slot when it comes to the way the parties are set up in this country. Book 2 has a great conservative character/hero...a CEO of a major corporation who complains about unions. (He also happens to be in a gay relationship.) So I'm all over the place. As for the book ending abruptly...I apologize. I did ask for them to put a "Book One" Blurb on the cover, but they decided not to. Book Two has a satisfying ending. i.e. No cliffhanger. I'm finishing book 3 now which is a full-blown epic, high fantasy tale with a dungeon crawl and everything. Thanks for reading! :-)<br />Edward Lazellarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00367415681334213440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-53972483973217423432011-08-30T09:47:02.628-07:002011-08-30T09:47:02.628-07:00Most complaints I've read about this book cent...Most complaints I've read about this book center on the fact that it ends kind of abruptly; and it does. But that wasn't as distracting to me as the other stuff. I wanted to like it, but mostly thought it was just okay.SQThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04251030404220909306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-30545977834507038832011-08-30T09:40:42.022-07:002011-08-30T09:40:42.022-07:00I thought this sounded like a promising book am a ...I thought this sounded like a promising book am a bit disappointed to see that it only elicited a lukewarm response. I generally have little interest in reading about politics in fantasy so that would probably turn me off as well but I think I'll probably still give this book a try.Simchahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14730042073954228379noreply@blogger.com
