I'm just glad that today's artists (both comic book and film) are keeping Batman in the adult playing field where he belongs.

Many comic book characters are people too. They're not just for kids and I think the reason we care is because artists and writers are taking the time to render them as three dimensional characters. It'll be interesting to see where the medium goes in the next 10-20 years.Heatherhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00913459109753829391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-78679952301517464432008-07-24T06:25:00.000-07:002008-07-24T06:25:00.000-07:00Steve, your information on the Joker actually make...Steve, your information on the Joker actually makes Cesar Romero's version much more understandable to me.Avery DeBowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16574481780173046619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-84845045954808155292008-07-23T19:10:00.000-07:002008-07-23T19:10:00.000-07:00SteveI love that kind of trivia. Frank Miller did a plain-English parody of this in The Dark Knight in the mid-80's.

After that, I get the feeling that the fans didn't like the idea of a gay Joker but *did* like the atmosphere of all that 80's angst. Batman's world turned darker and more grim, and the Joker evolved into the heteropsycho we know and love today.Steve Malleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17561234111786788616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-62506877302747953462008-07-23T10:23:00.000-07:002008-07-23T10:23:00.000-07:00FBI hope you do. I wonder why....

Avery

It got under my skin in a good way. There aren't that many movies that do that so I really pay attention to the one's that do.SQThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251030404220909306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-68452200329133001672008-07-23T09:53:00.000-07:002008-07-23T09:53:00.000-07:00Excellent post. Hopefully I won't miss it in the theater and have to wait until it comes out on DVD. I need to check the DVR listings for that special; I'd really like to see that.Avery DeBowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16574481780173046619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-65739616722454979332008-07-23T08:02:00.000-07:002008-07-23T08:02:00.000-07:00Sounds like the movie definitely had an impact. I'm sorta of interested in that area. ;)

My first experience of the Joker was in the old Batman TV show.
