I still do want to read it, especially for the Scott Lynch story, but at least my expectations won't be too high.Simchahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14730042073954228379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-73985962604174278152010-06-25T13:21:04.252-07:002010-06-25T13:21:04.252-07:00I think your view on anthologies is very interesti...I think your view on anthologies is very interesting. I usually find myself shying away from them as well- usually because I'm in the mood for something meatier.

But, I appreciate your perspective that its a chance to get a glimpse into an author's story/writing style. I might pick this up now... :)

Thanks!Lisa Parkinhttp://www.lisaparkin.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-3115602364611654832010-06-25T11:43:26.843-07:002010-06-25T11:43:26.843-07:00I like anthologies, but I think fantasy is a diffi...I like anthologies, but I think fantasy is a difficult one to compile. Maybe because one has to spend time introducing a fantastical world and its rules of engagement and realities. I admire authors who can do fantasy, especially high fantasy, in a shorter form.Stewart Sternberg (half of L.P. It's just not my thing. That said, this one has Scott Lynch (I love "The Lies of Locke Lamora) and Joe Abercrombie, Greg Keyes, Steven Erickson and Michael Moorcock. That's a pretty darned good lineup.SQThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04251030404220909306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-65263791660814548702010-06-25T08:05:05.691-07:002010-06-25T08:05:05.691-07:00I will definitely pick this up. I always read teh Elric stuff too, partly out of habit these days.Charles Gramlichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02052592247572253641noreply@blogger.com
