Laurence Fishburne was great, and Hugo Weaving no doubt owned Agent Smith in the first one. After the first one, tho, Smith got on my nerves.

I'm also not an old-time Iron Man fan, but I've checked out a couple comics and the old cartoon ;D I'm impressed with how accurate Downey Jr. seems!

And yeah, Tobey Maguire is right on!

I gotta add:
-Russel Crowe as Jack Aubrey and Paul Bettany as Steven Maturin in Master and Commander.
-I hate the new Star Wars (Jar Jar must die!!), but I was really impressed with Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine...up until they did that stupid fast-aging thing with him.
-The entire main cast of Firefly, absolutely, every one of them. It was shortlived, but they worked wonders with those characters in that little time.
-Alan Rickman as Snape!

Great post! I expect to keep coming to this blog ;)
Justin
www.lightofar.comJustin M. (But then am not a Kevin fan).

Daredevil, sorry to say I could not get hooked after 10 seconds and left the dvd be.

And Antonio Banderas as Armand in Interview with a Vampire? In the book it's supposed to be a 17 year old boy with curls? A complete re-write that did not appeal to me, though nothing against Antonio, but am straying from the "miscast" issue a bit.

But I realize how casting is difficult. My friend makes short movies and on his final project his actor seemed better than his actress on the shoot. But once we looked at the shots taken, we realized the girl came across better then him. Sometimes it just turns out weird...Fabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11727490011876675399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-84667052571736679422008-06-25T14:51:00.000-07:002008-06-25T14:51:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Fabhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11727490011876675399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-85965360852779341262008-06-25T10:30:00.000-07:002008-06-25T10:30:00.000-07:00Huh, I thought I was the only person pissed off ab...Huh, I thought I was the only person pissed off about Starsky and Hutch. I'm only twenty five and I loved watching reruns of that series. It was hearbreaking to see them ruin it, not to mention that the originals actually had a cameo in it.

The Star Wars Trilogy was horrible anyways. I don't care who they would have cast. I fell asleep during most of them. They were long and drawn out, not like the original three. Luke Skywalker will always reign supreme!Violethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01495144213344984131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-55282503134540185.post-23362147086684634212008-06-24T20:05:00.000-07:002008-06-24T20:05:00.000-07:00I love Mr and Mrs. Smith. I appreciate Pitt the most when his characters are quirky and odd.

I have to agree with each of your main points..you're right on. As for your on the fence, I think the first Matrix film is pretty much a perfect movie and I enjoyed Reeves in it. I like Dunst in Spiderman and Knightley in all the Pirates films but I think that is as much about how much I like both actresses as the roles. Surely the Mary Jane role got weaker with each film in the trilogy. I got really annoyed with what they did with the character and also didn't like Knightley's character as much in Pirates 2...but not because of her.

Oh, and I thought Paul Giamatti was fantastic in Shoot Em' Up. A great deal of what made the role as outlandish is because it was him.Carl V. I don't think that she is all that good of an actor, she can say her lines while looking poputy/wooden but there's not much else to her.
