A Little Longer Hiatus...

I feel so bad that my poor blog has been so neglected, but I'm afraid it's going to be put on the back-burner a bit longer. I've had some mind-blowing stuff happen lately. Not to get too personal, but let me share that Ancestry DNA is really freaking accurate and that you can find long-lost family that way.

I do have some reviews scheduled for August and hopefully Bill will continue to have time to post some reviews. I'll be around.

In similar news, if Connecticut stops being so humid that I can barely sleep or think, I'll get back to two posts a week myself. A lot of this is stuff that I wrote over the Spring but kept getting pushed back for new film releases; this is by far going to be my most prolific year on this site.

I appreciate it so much Bill. I can't believe how crazy my life has gotten lately. I didn't want to write a big long post about it but my biological mother and I found each other on Ancestry.com. My mind is blown.

Well, if you ever are ready to write it all out, I'm ready to read it. WOW. I hope this "finding each other" yields positive returns.

I think I will when I have a sense of how everything is going to be. It's so easy to get on a bubble and I want to make sure to remain somewhat cautious. But WOW. I look just like her! It's eerie. I also have a half-sister and niece that I didn't know about.

I have been mapping my family tree too, nothing cool like DNA though and finding long lost family. Nice

It's amazing. Less than $200. Who needs private detectives to hunt down family anymore? If you want to find each other the resource is priceless.

Sounds like an interesting story in your own life so quite understandable for you to take some time. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone!

I did the DNA hoping to find out a little about my ethnic background. I didn't realize the test could be so specific to connect close family. My bio-mom had her brother do the test (supposedly the DNA is more accurate on the male side) and the results came back Saturday showing me as a first cousin. She contacted me thinking I was a cousin and when I returned her email with some of my info she realized I was her daughter. She cautiously approached me and after several exchanges told me who she was. We emailing and talking now. Crazy!

Oh, Charles- I just found out my family is from your neck of the woods. I have a lot of extended family in Louisiana and Alabama.

How about that? I'm sure you must be gobsmacked by these revelations. I hope it all turns out well for you.
