"Oblivion" Trailer

~Plot Synopsis

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues an attractive female stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Morgan Freeman as the leader of a post apocalyptic rag tag group of survivors? That alone would sell it for me (Cruise, not so much).

First I've heard of it but it looks kind of intersting.

This is one of those that looks like a definite "maybe." The reviews will have a lot to do with whether or not I go see this.

Oh I do like the looks of this one. Morgan Freeman is always great, so glad to see him in this too. I really want to know what the connection that woman has to Jack. lol. Thanks for sharing this as I'd not heard about it until now.

I'm not a fanatic Cruise fan but I will admit to liking him in most everything I see him in, so generally even if it looks like it is a 'seen it before' action film I'll see it when he is the star.

This one looks amazing from a special effects standpoint and with Cruise and Freeman in it I am mildly hopeful. I'll see it when it comes out unless reviews convince me that it is a horrible mess.

@Carl--The thing I have found with Cruise is that he has a way of defying expectations. When he was cast as Lestat I was almost horrified, but he pulled it off. A lot of people are put out that he's been cast as Jack Reacher, and I admit I can't put him in the place of the 6'5" guy from the books-- but I still want to see it. I know it's kind of cool to pick on the guy, but I can't bring the hate. It's been years since he's acted bizarrely in his personal life, so I'm over picking on him for that too. Mostly, like you, I like his movies. I'll see this at some point for sure. The only thing the reviews will determine is if it's in the theater or at home.

I'm the same way, I think the Reacher film looks too good to pass up and I'll decide whether Oblivion is home or theater based on reviews...which I'll still take on consideration given that I don't always trust to motivations of critics.
