I'll never recover from the dismal Transformers 2. So 3 is OUT.
part of the magic of the toys and cartoon, was that you saw how they got from point A, robot, to point B, vehicle. The Transformers movies partially suck because they didn't keep this concept. The writing didn't help either.
I didn't care for the first movie in the least, but I gave the second a try and thought it was okay. This trailer for the third looks pretty boring to me though. :P
Meh too. How often do sequels get BETTER as they go? Not very often, in my opinion. Andrew (To Love, Honor, and Dismay)
I have to admit, I liked both Transformers movies. The second one was an odd mix of spending a huge amount of money on something and having a really flippant attitude about it. Yeah, I would have liked to have seen a more traditional Optumus (with the face shield especially like in the cartoon), but overall, I think the films grasp the utter ridiculousness of the Transformers. I mean, Optimus has to sacrifice himself for the good of all humanity in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE now doesn't he? How can you make a serious film while dealing with that?
I thought the story of the second one got lost in a lot of loud, massively distructive scenes. I'll probably give the third a try because my sons love them regardless.
I absolutely LOVED the first Transformers movie and the second was okay......I'm not really sure how I feel about there being a third. I'll definitely go watch it but i felt like they're losing a story and I hope this is their last. (even though I do enjoy looking at Shia LeBouf) :)) So what did you all think of Harry Potter? I'm absolutely in love with these types of stories: Harry Potter, Transformers, Pirates of the Caribbean (which they shouldn't have continued with) etc. Right now, I have begun a blog about Harry Potter; take a look! http://blogs.micds.org/mhabib/tag/nonfiction/
I'll always be a Transformers fan. Love them love them love them! (and when I say them I mean the 80s cartoon version of them) However the first movie wasn't bad at all. I found myself on the edge of my seat and having fan girl moments when the transforming scenes happened. The second movie didn't really twirl my skirts or anything but it was alright. This trailer isn't doing much for me either. But will I see it? Yes. Will I pay to go see it in theaters? Eh, not too sure.
