Should I admit that I didn't know an X-Men prequel was in the works? Somehow that got by me. But filming is in full swing and images are starting to make their way around the web. It stars
James McAvoy as young Charles Xavier,
Michael Fassbender as Magneto,
January Jones as Emma Frost--
and Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw too! I'll see it for Kevin Bacon alone (says the girl who grew up on "Footloose"). It's scheduled for release in June of 2011.
I was, however, aware that "Captain America: The First Avenger" was in the process of filming. For those who haven't been keeping track, the film is set for release in July of 2011 and stars
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America and
Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt/Red Skull. Of course Samuel L. Jackson will also be appearing as Nick Fury.
Fingers crossed that this means next year will be much better for summer blockbusters!

I don't know. I'm a bit burned out on superhero movies, but I'll probably see them.
Hopefully your right. Captain America looks okay, Thor will be better. But the X-Men prequel does nothing for me.
I like comic book movies, so I'm cautiously optimistic. I'll have to wait and see what the buzz looks like the closer we get to the release dates.
X-Men has a chance of being decent because the story was developed by Bryan Singer, who did do a good job on the first one. It's a whole new story-- so we'll see.
Emma is wearing entirely too much clothing.
