"Where the Wild Things Are" Trailer and Featurette

I wasn't even aware that Maurice Sendak's classic book was being made into a movie, much less one directed by Spike Jonze. Not sure what to make of it yet. Here's a trailer from the movie and below that a featurette with Sendak and Jonze. Definitely worth checking out. Thanks to Ain't it Cool News for posting the featurette.

I hope they don't mess this one up. I'll be irritated.

Is it terrible that I haven't heard of the book or Maurice?? =( The movie looks cute. I like the boy's outfit. I'll have to check the book out =)

I get the feeling the trailer is going to be better than the book. However, I could be mistaken. I remember when I read JUMANJI, the picture book and marveled at how Hollywood took this rather insignificant handful of drawings and rather staid text, and made something marvelous from it.

The trailer sure has me hooked. Although I echo Charles in the hopes that it doesn't turn into a disaster.
