So would you take the red pill or the blue pill?
I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, but just in case, here's a refresher.
In "The Matrix" Neo is offered the chance to see the world as really exists by taking a red pill or he can take the blue pill, forget everything, and continue living his life in blissful ignorance.
I'd be willing to bet most people would take the red pill-- though they might regret it later (just as Joe Pantoliano's character "Cypher" did). I think it's in our nature to want to know what's going on, even if we choose to put the blinders back on later.
Do you agree? Could you actually choose not to know?

A Quick Question About Enlightenment

For me, becoming a Christian is like taking the red pill. I can't go back and I see things different now. There's a battle going on and mankind is in the middle of it.
Good question.
p.s. The Matrix rocked! It will go down in history as one of those pivotal films.
red pill, easy. my life sucks.
Ah FB, the really problem is if your life sucks worse after taking the red pill.
I can say the same thing about being an atheist. It's all about taking the red pill and not being blinded by faith and rhetoric.
blue pill blue pill blue pill
as Calvin said to Hobbes: ignorance is bliss
but then again, how trustworthy is a cartoon character?
I'd have to take the red pill. I know I'd regret it--living in the cold, wearing raggedy sweaters and eating whatever glop is available in a world without sunshine--but, I couldn't not know. Plus, there's the bonus of learning how to manipulate my old environment. Makes for a much better homecoming experience; leave as one of the masses, return as a master. Not too shabby a compensation for the sacrifice.
Although, I have to add the fact I'm really paranoid, so I might not have taken either, thinking he was trying to poison me. ; )
if i will become the new Neo, the red pill, otherwise, the blue one.
People keep voting for crazy Republicans...isn't that like taking the blue pill???
Sorry...
I don't know... I think the MAJORITY prefer the blue pill..safety and all that.
I am red pill type though...

Enlightenment comes in many forms. I figure it's what it means to each individual that matters.
Fab
Yeah, I'm not sure I'd take advice from a cartoon...

See, that's the upside. Even if you're not Neo, being a bad-ass Trinity would still be fantastic.
Arrakis
But you wouldn't know until after you took the pill...

Dems, Republicans, it's all the same really. (Republican President--Democrat Congress-- stuff like that keeps things from changing too much) I think in the end we're all fans of status quo, as long as we're living comfortably.
I think I'd have to take the red pill. But I'd agonize over it.
I think that the matrix is real. One time I was riding the bus from school, and we were passing through a neighborhood, and I saw a little kid riding a tricycle. A few seconds later, when we were in a whole different part of the neighborhood, I saw another kid that looked exactly like him, tricycle, hair, clothes and all, like that scene in the Matrix when Neo sees the black cat and its doppelganger. Also, I would take the red pill if it meant being the next Neo. Though I would bring some sweetener with me, because of that white glop.
What happens if you take both at the same time? 0.o
if ya took two of em? you would get mad out of it ha ha..
but i dont think its a choice if had a chance to be a part of something that big, id shove that f**ken pill straght up my a*s!
cum on!

Ireland ;D
you can't take both pills. its not like cream or sugar, where u can have both. It's knowledge or ignorance. once you know something, it's very hard to un-know it.
btw most people say red pill, but prefer blue.
everyone wants to know the truth, until it makes their lives less enjoyable. and im pretty sure life is less enjoyable when u realize that a few evil men control not only your life, but the entire world.
better just see whats on late night TV.
Neo was a Jesuit, Smith was a Freemason, the Oracle and the Architect are the Illuminati, and the Matrix was G.
