I've already heard back from
two three publishers regarding doing reviews on this blog and they're going to be sending me books!
Both All of the publishers have great titles and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes, but one is an especially big name and they've agreed to send me books on a trial basis- which means I need to get reviews up on those books.
No, what that really means is I'm going to need help.
So to all of you who said you'd like to review books for this blog, get ready!
I'll keep you posted. Thanks you guys for all the feedback on that last post. I really appreciate it.

That was fast.
Congratulations.
They do work quickly.
Congrats!

I got lucky. First, Remy sent my name to Orbit publishers and they got right back to me. Thanks Remy!
Then, I asked one of my favorite authors if she could send me a review copy and she sent me the email of her publicist who then agreed to send me review copies of new releases from the publisher.
Pure luck.
Cool! Good luck on that "trial basis". I wonder what they are going to be looking for?
Goodness, I turn around for a couple days because I got Shingles and was freaking out, and look what happened!
Feel free to email me at arconna@(no spam)sbcglobal.net
Just remove the no spam. That's if you still would like me to contribute. I'd certainly be interested since it will be genre stuff, plus Orbit puts out some good books :).
Congrats too! That's amazing that you just send some letters and boom, books...is it really that easy?
Tia
She told me that I need to make sure to send her the links to the reviews so they can put them in their database. I don't think it has anything to do with whether or not the book review is favorable, just that we do them. At least I hope that's the case. But they are a big publisher so I have high hopes for decent titles.

I hope you're feeling okay. I hear shingles is no fun at all.
I don't know if it's usually so easy to get books. I think the fact that my blog has been around awhile and already has people coming to it contributed quite a bit. Contacting the author directly helped quite a bit but having another blogger help out really sped the process up.
Oh, and I'll email you as soon as I get some books in to send out.
Thanks for your concern. I think for some people Shingles is hell, but it's not been horrible for me. They gave me these anti-inflammatory pills to take, but when I looked at the side affects I decided I'd deal with the mild pain for a couple weeks. My options were, deal with the pain, or possible die in about 13 different ways...I think I can deal with a little pain.
And I can't wait to hear from you :).
It was my pleasure!

The folks at Orbit just want to see if you can write an intelligent and insighful book review, that's all.:-)
Of course, if you slam the first title you read from them, you might want to wait a few weeks before requesting additional review copies!;-)
Congrats. :)
Hi SQT,
John from Night Shade has left you a comment on my site. He wants you to contact him about receiving a copy of The Princes of the Golden Cage.
Thanks remy, I emailed him after I realized he was with a different publisher and he got back to me last night.
Yep, that is an excited look all right! :) Glad to see you are getting a good response already.

That's what I am afraid of, if the first book one gets sucks--how do you deal with it? :)
That's crazy-fast. I hope you keep getting such positive responses.
John
I'm just praying it doesn't suck.
Avery
I know! I've been very very lucky.
Congratulations!
Let me know if/when I can help.
I'm eager to please.
Orbit are pretty good about whether you like the book or not, I've slammed a couple and they were cool with it.
Is it Orbit UK or US that you are in contact with?
Nice work with the quick responses! :o)
Graeme, it the U.S. side of Orbit I'm talking to.
I'd imagine the US side are just as nice as the folks at Orbit UK (very, in other words).
I hadn't noticed you were asking for reviewers. Ah, well. I probably don't have time what with my own blog. Best of luck, will be eager to see what's happening here =D

The Book Swede
Chris, I was think I would do regular posts that link up to other review sites showing what reviews they're doing. Or, possibly doing a post linking to all the reviews of one book.
I don't know yet what will work. We'll see.
