Bored Bored Bored Bored Bored

I don't know what's going on, but there seems to be a general summer malaise going on. I know I am not the only blogger to feel it or comment on it though I don't think any of us have any idea why we're all feeling so blah these days. Speaking for myself I think I am ready for the kids to go back to school. I love my kids but I can only take so much togetherness before I want to pull my hair out. So as I sit here tying desperately to think of some kind of post to put up, I've been wondering what it would take to get my interest these days. I mean what do you suppose it would take to get every one's attention right now? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???? Let's see, how about ....... World Peace Bwaaaahhahahahahahahahahah!!!! Yeah right. That will happen. Let's move on. Catching Osama How nice would that be? Granted, we'd probably still flounder around in Iraq, but it would be that much harder to justify. Paris Hilton Disappears Without a Trace Wishful thinking, I know. Tom Cruise Finally Comes Out of the Closet Would we really be that surprised? Food I Like to Eat No Longer Has Calories About as realistic as world peace, but a lot more fun. The Pharmaceutical Companies Stop Pimping Drugs on Television I really don't need to see anymore Viagra ads, do you? Democrats and Republicans Agree on Something I may start laughing again. Someone Explains the Whole Posh and Becks Thing Seriously, why are these people famous? Hugh Jackman Professes his Undying Love to Me Okay, I'm the only one who would find this interesting, but hey, it's my list. Cure for Cancer Found Now that would freak out the pharmaceutical companies wouldn't it? J.J. Abrams Explains What 1-18-08 is About Already Though I would lose a lot of blog traffic if he did. I Think of a Real Post for This Blog Now I'm really dreaming. So what would it take to get your attention?

Take it back, heathen! The man is one of the greatest soccer players in the world, and his wife is what I think about when I do 'the naughty touch' at night!

You should see the Ali G interview of them on Comic Relief (available at Youtube or Google Video). Sasha Cohen absolutely rips them a new one. It's hilarious.

Okay, I kind of get the Becks thing. But Posh? Really? I don't know anything about her personality, she's not really covered that much here in the States (though they're trying to change that with a reality show) but I never thought she was that hot. Maybe I'm wrong.

Well that picture of that cat got my attention anyway.

I know how you feel: these past few weeks have been pretty boring. Apparently it's a global thing, if it has hit so many bloggers.

Posh is a leathery bag of bones. Nothing remotely attractive, there.

What would get my attention? Gravity instantaneously reversing around Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and every other drunk/drugged/malnourished attention-whore 'celebrity' (male or female) while I'm kicking back with my popcorn, watching them float off into space like helium filled scarecrows.

Oh, and the title of your post reminds me of the opening lines of Sid and Nancy:

"Boring, boring, Sidney. Sex is boring."

"You know I was so bored once, I F*cked a dog. And he smelled like F*cking pizza."

"Pizza? I'm hungry."

I need the fall to begin, classes to resume and my house to magically get organized. It would be nice if Dems and Reps could actually find mutual ground. This far left far right stuff is getting old.

Posh and Becks are two of the most pointless people there are. I've had to endure them here in England..

It's quite an ambitious list.

Except for the Hugh Jackman bit.

And Tom Cruise. Sure, he's weird to the nth degree, but he's been married to Nicole Kidman and involved with Penelope Cruz. (Diversity in pulchritude!) And while her agreeing to marry him makes me question her intelligence, his current wife is not bad looking either.

But as for what gets my attention?

Everything gets my attention, except the stuff on my desk right now.

It makes my day that you seem to think it's more realistic that Hugh Jackman may profess undying love than I might come up with a real post for the blog.

I may never come up with a real post again. ;)

As for Tom Cruise. He may not be gay but at this point nothing is really off the table. He's come so far from that guy in Top Gun and not in a good way.

Add a bag of chips and that cat could be me.

Posh is probably the third-best-looking English celeb, right behind Kate Beckinsale and Liz Hurley.

But who cares about the eye candy. I'm still waiting to see Beckham get a start for the Galaxy. Stupid ankle!

You know, if you get too bored, you could always come and join me in Warcraft. You and I could carve up that continent, ripping through the countryside.

It's a trick; get an axe!

Actually, with the rate at which Chinese people are dying from playing too much WoW and forgetting to eat, drink, or bathe, I am a little worried I would get carried away if I allowed myself to play that game. Everquest was addictive enough!

As you may well know, I certainly was under that malaise recently. I think...I hope...I am finally coming out of it. I get this way every July/August about everything. I hate these hot months and generally the time passes in sort of a depressed, hot and humid fog and I look back in September wondering just what the hell I've done for two months.

OK, you can have Hugh Jackman, if I get Orlando Bloom and some prosthetic elf ears :D
